Religious Violence ()

Brant Bosserman, September 8, 2013
Part of the True Religion series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

Violence on the part of religious adherents has left many people disillusioned, and it has led them to question the virtue of religion altogether. Some have gone so far as to decry religion as the chief source of pride, violence, and unrest in the world. And yet, James the Brother of Jesus, advocate extraordinaire of “pure and undefiled religion,” offers a very different diagnosis of the world’s plight, which both explains our proclivity for religious violence, and points us to the only solution to human conflict—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Visit Trinitas Church this Sunday at 5:30 pm to learn about how the Savior who said “I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” (Matt. 10:34), can justly bear the title “Prince of Peace” (Is. 9:6).
